ATI: Thai Creative Economy : Art from Thai Intelligence โครงการปฏิบัติการไทยเข้มแข็ง : ศิลปกรรมจากภูมิปัญญาไทย

ผู้สร้างสรรค์ผลิตสินค้าตกแต่งบ้านเพื่อการส่งออก โดยมีสินค้าหลัก ประเภทโคมไฟ และกล่องที่ทำจากเยื่อไม้พร้อมทั้งการออกแบบตกแต่งภายใน เป็นหนึ่งในผู้ประกอบการที่เข้าร่วมโครงการปฏิบัติการไทยเข้มแข็ง : ศิลปกรรมจากภูมิปัญญาไทย “วิจิตรศิลป์-ศิลป์ไทย”โดยให้การสนับสนุนศิลปินในด้านเทคนิค วัสดุ และการสร้างสรรค์ผลงานด้วยผลิตภัณฑ์ไม้

คุณสุริศักดิ์เล่าให้ฟังถึงที่มาของการเข้าร่วมโครงการปฏิบัติการไทยเข้มแข็ง : ศิลปกรรมจากภูมิปัญญาไทย “วิจิตรศิลป์-ศิลป์ไทย”ในครั้งนี้ว่า

“ผม ได้รับโทรศัพท์จากอาจารย์ในคณะจิตรกรรม ประติมากรรม และภาพพิมพ์ มหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากรท่านหนึ่ง ให้มาช่วยโครงการไทยเข้มแข็ง ในเทคนิคผลิตภัณฑ์ไม้ ผมเองก็ไม่คิดมากอะไร กล่าวรับคำด้วยใจที่ต้องการช่วยเหลือคณะที่เป็นมหาวิทยาลัยเก่าของผมที่ได้ ร่ำเรียนมา”

ในส่วนข้อมูลเกี่ยวกับบริษัท เอเบิ้ล อินทีเรีย เวอร์คชอป จำกัด

“เป็น บริษัทที่รับออกแบบตกแต่งภายใน และผลิตสินค้าตกแต่งบ้านเพื่อการส่งออก โดยมีสินค้าหลัก ประเภท โคมไฟ และกล่อง ที่ทำจากเยื่อไม้โดยมีกลุ่มลูกค้าหลัก คือ กลุ่มโรงแรม รีสอร์ท และอาคารชุดพักอาศัย ส่วนลูกค้าในต่างประเทศ บริษัทมีตัวแทนจำหน่ายกระจายอยู่ทั่วโลก สินค้าที่ได้รับความสนใจและมีการสั่งซื้ออย่างต่อเนื่อง ได้แก่ เฟอร์นิเจอร์ โคมไฟจากเยื่อไม้และของตกแต่งที่ทำจากไม้”

เมื่อ ไถ่ถามคุณสุริศักดิ์เกี่ยวกับเรื่องราวความเป็นมาในอาชีพนักออกแบบผลิตภัณฑ์ ที่เป็นอยู่นี้ คุณสุริศักดิ์กล่าวด้วยน้ำเสียงที่แสดงถึงความมุ่งมั่น

“ผม เติบโตมาจากสภาพแวดล้อมที่เต็มไปด้วยเหล่าบรรดาช่างทั้งหลายที่รายล้อมผม อยู่ ไม่ว่าจะเป็นโรงไม้ โรงเหล็ก โรงสี หรือการทำเฟอร์นิเจอร์ ผมอยู่กับแวดล้อมเหล่านั้นทำให้ผมมุ่งมั่นที่เรียนทางด้านนี้ ผมเรียนทั้งออกแบบภายใน รวมทั้งความรู้เรื่องเกี่ยวกับสีและทัศนธาตุต่าง ๆ ที่ผมได้มาจากการเรียนที่คณะจิตรกรรม ประติมากรรมและภาพพิมพ์  มหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากร ทำให้ผมมีประสบการณ์หลากหลายด้าน สั่งสมเป็นความรู้ที่สามารถนำมาประยุกต์ใช้จนถึงปัจจุบัน”

คุณสุริศักดิ์ได้ให้ความเห็นเกี่ยวกับโครงการปฏิบัติการไทยเข้มแข็ง : ศิลปกรรมจากภูมิปัญญาไทย “วิจิตรศิลป์-ศิลป์ไทย”ว่า

“โครงการ ปฏิบัติการไทยเข้มแข็งถือว่าเป็นโครงการที่ดี เป็นการนำความรู้ของกลุ่มบุคคลต่าง ๆ มาพัฒนาประเทศ ให้ได้เป็นสินค้าที่สามารถสร้างมูลค่าการค้าขายในประเทศ ให้เจริญก้าวไกลได้อีก ส่วนในเทคนิคไม้ที่ผมได้รับก็เป็นการผสมผสานแนวความคิด จากศิลปินถึงผู้ประกอบกิจการอย่างผมให้สามารถเข้าถึงซึ่งกันและกันได้ สิ่งนี้อาจจะเป็นเสมือนการหล่อหลอมความคิดของคนกลุ่มหนึ่ง สู่อีกกลุ่มคนที่หลากหลายสู่การพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืน ตามชื่อโครงการปฏิบัติการไทยเข้มแข็ง ให้เป็นรากฐานที่แข็งแรงของคนไทยได้ตามชื่อที่รัฐบาลได้ตั้งไว้”

เมื่อถามถึงวิธีการทำงานร่วมกับคณาจารย์ในมหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากร คุณสุริศักดิ์ได้ให้ความเห็นว่า

“แม้ ว่าบางทีอาจจะไม่ใช่เรื่องง่ายนักในการทำงานร่วมกันของนักออกแบบกับศิลปิน เนื่องจากวิธีการคิดของกลุ่มคนทั้งสองที่มีความแตกต่างกัน โดยศิลปินจะมีสไตล์ที่เป็นปัจเจกในตนเองสูง แนวความคิดของศิลปินจะแตกต่างกับแนวความคิดของนักออกแบบอย่างผม ศิลปินเองจะคำนึงถึงเรื่องของรูปแบบที่มีความแปลกใหม่ซึ่งเน้นรูปแบบความงาม ทางด้านศิลปะมาจับ ตามที่ศิลปินได้มีติดตัวมาแต่ละท่าน ส่วนผมถึงจะร่ำเรียนมาจากที่เดียวกัน มีความเป็นศิลปินเหมือนกัน  แต่ผมเองจะเน้นเรื่องของรูปแบบที่สามารถใช้ได้จริง โดยนำเรื่องประโยชน์ใช้สอยมาจับ ส่วนนี้เองที่ทำให้ผมสามารถเข้าใจศิลปินได้อย่างไม่ยากเย็นนัก โดยผมบอกกับศิลปินที่เข้ามาทำงานในเทคนิคของผมว่า อย่าปิดกั้นไอเดียของตัวเอง ให้นำมาใช้อย่างเต็มที่ แต่ผมทำหน้าที่เพียงปรับเพื่อให้ผลงานสอดคล้องไปกับการออกแบบในรูปแบบที่ เป็นปัจจุบัน ทำให้ทุกอย่างดูง่ายขึ้น ที่สำคัญต้องใช้ไม้อย่างไม่เปลืองเพื่อเป็นการช่วยรักษ์ไม้อีกทางหนึ่ง”

สำหรับในเรื่องของวัสดุที่จำเป็นต้องใช้ในผลงานที่สร้างสรรค์ในโครงการปฏิบัติการไทยเข้มแข็งนี้ คุณสุริศักดิ์กล่าวว่า

“ผม ใช้เยื่อไม้นำมาสร้างสรรค์ผลิตภัณฑ์ทั้งหมดที่ศิลปินสร้างขึ้น เนื่องจากก่อนหน้าผมเองก็ทำผลิตภัณฑ์ในรูปแบบต่าง ๆ เช่น เฟอร์นิเจอร์ออกมาจากเยื่อไม้เป็นคนต้น ๆ ของประเทศอยู่แล้ว ทางศิลปินก็ลงความเห็นให้ผมทำผลิตภัณฑ์ในโครงการนี้ออกมา เป็นการสร้างผลิตภัณฑ์จากเยื่อไม้ทั้งหมดตามแบบฉบับที่ผมถนัดก่อนหน้า  

ถ้า ถามว่าผมมีอะไรหนักใจไหม  ผมขอบอกว่ามี ผมมีปัญหาในเรื่องวัสดุที่จะนำมารองรับศิลปิน เนื่องจากศิลปินต้องการเยื่อไม้ที่เป็นเศษไม้ในโรงงาน โดยให้ผมนำกลับมาใช้ใหม่เพื่อเป็นการประหยัดทรัพยากรอีกที ผมเองก็พยายามหาวัสดุอย่างเต็มที่ แต่จากการที่ผมเองก็นำเศษไม้พวกนั้นมาใช้หมดบางส่วนก่อนหน้าแล้ว ทำให้ผมต้องนำไม้ชิ้นใหญ่มาย่อยเป็นเศษไม้เพื่อให้ผลที่ได้ใกล้เคียงกับรูป แบบที่ศิลปินแต่ละท่านพอใจมากที่สุด ผมเองจึงพยายามหาวิธีการแปรรูปไม้พวกนี้ด้วยกรรมวิธีให้เกิดความคุ้มค่าที่ สุด ถ้าให้ใช้ไม้สักก็คงนำมาแค่ผิวโดยไม่นำมาทั้งหมด  จึงทำให้ผมเองก็ไม่ได้อยากจะกล่าวว่าผมเป็นหัวอนุรักษ์โลกมากนัก ผมจึงพยายามทำทุกอย่างให้เต็มที่สำหรับการช่วยเหลือทรัพยากรบางอย่างที่ขาด หายไป”

ส่วนประเด็นเรื่องของความสำเร็จในชิ้นงานในโครงการไทยปฏิบัติการไทยเข้มแข็ง : ศิลปกรรมจากภูมิปัญญาไทย “วิจิตรศิลป์-ศิลป์ไทย”ในเทคนิคที่ได้รับหมอบหมายนี้ คุณสุริศักดิ์ตอบด้วยน้ำเสียงที่เต็มไปด้วยเสียงหัวเราะว่า

“ผม รู้สึกพอใจในผลิตภัณฑ์ที่ได้ออกมาจากรูปทรงที่แปลกและหลายหลากของศิลปิน ไม่ว่าจะเป็นโซฟา โต๊ะคอมพิวเตอร์ โต๊ะในรูปแบบตั้งวาง ฯลฯ เป็นความคิดสร้างสรรค์ในอีกแง่มุมที่ผมไม่เคยเห็นมาก่อน ถึงแม้ศิลปินแต่ละท่านจะมีการออกแบบที่กึ่งรูปแบบสมัยก่อนนิด ๆ แต่รู้สึกได้ว่านี่เป็นรสนิยมที่มีมาแต่ดั้งเดิมที่แฝงไปด้วยกลิ่นอายของ ความเป็นคลาสสิคแบบมีลักษณะเฉพาะของความเป็นศิลปินในแต่ละท่าน การร่วมงานกับศิลปินในมหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากรครั้งนี้ทำให้ผมรู้สึกสนุกกับวิธี คิดรูปแบบต่าง ๆ ที่ผมและศิลปินได้แลกเปลี่ยนกัน ที่สำคัญผลิตภัณฑ์ที่ออกมาทั้งหมดในเทคนิคของผม ผมรับรองได้ว่าสามารถนำไปใช้งานได้จริง และไม่ว่าจะเป็นบ้านระดับใดก็มีสิทธิ์ที่จะซื้อผลงานได้ทุกระดับชั้น”

ประเด็นสุดท้ายอยากจะฝากอะไรไว้บ้าง

“ผม รู้สึกยินดีที่ได้มีส่วนร่วมในโครงการปฏิบัติการไทยเข้มแข็ง : ศิลปกรรมจากภูมิปัญญาไทย “วิจิตรศิลป์-ศิลป์ไทย”ครั้งนี้ หากคณะรัฐบาลนำสิ่งที่พวกเราร่วมกันสร้างมาใช้ได้หมด ผมเห็นว่าดี เนื่องจากผมเองก็เต็มที่สุด ๆ กับการมีส่วนร่วมในโครงการนี้ มีหนึ่งร้อยผมว่าผมให้เกินนั้นอีก ผลิตภัณฑ์ทุกชิ้นที่ออกมา ก็ได้รับการกลั่นกรองของแต่ละฝ่ายออกมาแล้วทุกชิ้น ศิลปินเป็นผู้คิดแบบ ส่วนผมเองก็เป็นผู้หนึ่งที่ช่วยให้ผลงานของศิลปินแต่ละท่านสำเร็จ และที่สำคัญยังเป็นชิ้นงานที่ใช้ได้จริงเหมาะกับคนทุกระดับชั้นอีกด้วย”

ถึงแม้ว่าโครงการปฏิบัติการไทยเข้มแข็ง : ศิลปกรรมจากภูมิปัญญาไทย “วิจิตรศิลป์-ศิลป์ไทย”ครั้ง นี้จะทำหน้าที่เป็นเพียงประตูหนึ่งที่ทำให้ทุกคนสามารถหันหน้าเข้าหากันตาม แนวทางสันติสุข แต่ความร่วมมือกันก็เป็นปัจจัยสำคัญที่ทำให้เกิดความรักความสามัคคีซึ่งจะนำ ไปสู่การพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืนในอนาคตได้ หากเราไม่ช่วยกันในวันนี้ แล้วประเทศไทยวันต่อไปจะสามารถดำรงอยู่อย่าง “ไทยเข้มแข็ง”ได้อย่างไร

the home interior and decoration manufacturer for export with the product highlight such as lamp and box made of wood pulp including the interior decoration service. It’s one of the manufactures participated in Thai Creative Economy : Art from Thai Intelligence project by supporting the artists in term of techniques, materials and the creation of wood art crafts.


Mr. Surisak has shared with us about the beginning of Thai Creative Economy : Art from Thai Intelligence project that

“I received a phone call from an instructor of Fine Arts, Silpakorn University asking for the help on the wood technique part of Thai Creative Economy project. Firstly, I thought this project wasn’t a big deal and accepted for the offer in order to help my former university.


Information about Able Interior Workshop Co. Ltd.

“We specialize in the interior decoration and home decoration manufacture for exporting. The highlight products are the lamp and box made of wood pulp. The main target audiences are hotels, resorts and residential properties, including the overseas customers, the foreign agents all over the world. The most famous product which has been continuously ordered is furniture, wood pulp lamp and wood crafts decoration”


When asking Mr. Surisak about the story of his career path as the product design, he confidently answered

“I’ve grown up and surrounded by the technicians such as sawmillengine house, rice mill,furniture technician which inspired me to study this course. I’ve studied interior design as well as color knowledge and elements from Faculty of Painting Sculpture and Graphic Arts, Silpakorn University, which gave me lot of experiences to adapt into practices until now.”


Khun Surisak gave his opinion about Thai Creative Economy : Art from Thai Intelligence project that

“It’s the very good project in order to bring the knowledge of expertise and develop the country to gain more commercial profits. The wood technique I got is the integrated thinking from the artists to the business owners like me to connect to each other perfectly. It is just like the way to enlighten the thought from one to another for the long term development, according to the name of project Thailand Strong - which Thai government aims it to be.”


When asked about the collaboration with the instructors of Silpakorn University, Mr. Surisak said

“Sometimes it is not easy to work together between the designer and artists because of the different point of views. Artists are more individual, which is totally different from the designer like me. Artists will concern about the new creation based on their individual art aspect. I myself have that idea though I’d been studying from the same institute. However, I’d rather focus on the functional and practical aspect. As the result, I could understand the artists very well and I told all the artists who works on my technique to bring out their own creative idea. My job is only the adjustment in order to make the work get along with the current design which is easy to understand. Most importantly, it has to be the environment friendly.”


For the essential materials used to create the work pieces Thai Creative Economy project, he said

“I used the wood pulp as the main materials to create the work because previously I was the first person at early stage that created the crafts in various format such as furniture and so on and the artists were ok to go with the direction of using the wood pulp as I originally planned.


Asking me if there is any concern, I would say yes and it was the materials for the artists because they only want the wood pulp in the fraction format from the factory which I could recycle it. I was trying so hard to find their requirement but I previously used some of them for other work so I had to digest all those big woods into small pieces to match their requirement and satisfaction. I also tried to find the most effective transformation. If using teak, we could only used its skin. Me as the environment concern person, I was trying my best to find the way to save some missing recourses.


Talking about the successful results of Thai Creative Economy : Art from Thai Intelligence project:  Art from Thai Intellect project with the responsibility he was given, he smiled and said

“I was happy with the work such as sofa, computer desk, shelf table and etc. which was produced in the very unique shape by artists and was presented in the way I’ve never seen it before. Though each design from artist was a little bit old fashioned but still classic refer to their own character and style. I was happy and fun to have a chance to collaborate with the artists from Silpakorn University. I’ve exchanged so many points with artists under my technique and I guarantee that it was practical to use in real life in all range of people.


Lastly, would you like to say anything?

“I was so glad to be part of this project. It would be very useful if the government could bring all the work we created and use them. I was so dedicated to this project, more than 100%. All the finished products had been precisely scrutinized by me and artists and they all also are preferred for everyone.”


Even thought Thai Creative Economy : Art from Thai Intelligence this year is treated as only one part to encourage everyone to peacefully get together, the most important factor is the unity which could bring us to long lasting development in the future. If we don’t start it today, how Thailand could continue live like “Thai Creative Economy”then?
